An Invitation to hear BRUCE DYER

Men’s Breakfast Speaker at Church on the Way (BD10 8SA)

SATURDAY MARCH 9th 2024 (9.00am – 11am)

In his teenage years Bruce became the first player to transfer for over a million pounds from Watford to Crystal Palace having begun as an apprentice at Watford at the age of 16. He played for many famous league clubs over a 17 year career including Stoke City, Sheffield United, Barnsley, Rotherham and others including Bradford City. He played altogether some 468 games and scoring 119 goals. He also played with the England Under 21’s eleven times.  He reflects that, even by the time he was 23, he was depressed and ready to quit football entirely.

Bruce also made a name for himself as a DJ around the UK playing alongside the likes of DJ Spoony and other renowned UK DJ’s. By the late 90’s he admitted to himself that a deep void existed in his heart which neither money, fame, relationships or any hobby could fill. He had his struggles with alcohol and drugs. His life did go on to change dramatically after a conversation with his brother Isaiah-Raymond and he hasn’t looked back since.  He now serves with Love Life UK Church which began as a small group in January 2018 and has now opened its own building in Barnsley. He also runs his own business doing ‘sports coaching’.  He is married to Janine, a famous singer who took part in ‘The Voice’ 2016 TV Series. They have four children.
